Now I know lots of the old school flashpoint players maybe ranting on about how dumb down this game is and how ARMA2 is superior in everyway. But I must say that this game has intrigued because it is dumb down.

This simplification allows the gameplay experience to be more streamlined, without the clutter of useless features that make the controls just awkward. Take ARMA2 (play the demo and you will know) there are like 11 command pallets each with sub command pallets. Which means I'd be standing there trying to find the command button to tell my troops to move but instead get shot for standing out in the open, hows that suppose to be realistic or any fun?

Anyway the game comes out between October the 9th and 15th depending on what platform you are buying it on. However one thing you should be cautious of is buying the Australian version, the developers have mentioned that we are getting a "nicened" version so that the game could conform to the M15+ rating (this game is 18+ in Britain).
The Details of "nicened" aren't laid out but I suppose it means its censored, removing any Australian related sensitive topics.

Who else is buying this game? I know I am (well the overseas version to be exact).

Bought it, enjoy it somewhat. The game feels very lacking on the 360.

I was very disappointed at the requirements of this game, coop and mp are completely unplayable at this stage due to the fact Codemaster thought it would be funny if we didn't have dedicated servers.

Because of this me and my friends cannot proceed mission 3 because of the insufficient connection to sync the scripted events. Check out the back of the box and you will see the game needs 0.5mbps upload to run, which is impossible in Australia,

As already posted, no dedicated server files ruin mp aspects of this game and with modern warfare 2 following this trend, its a sad week for pc gaming.

Indeed, if I can't even play 4 player coop, how are you even meant to play standard 5v5 CoD games?

Nice one month reply delay Starscream.
But this is worth bumping considering the demo is now out.

Good to note that in the v1.1 patch the new single missions are pretty decent and are in fact better then the whole campaign.

I played a bit of the demo and the only good thing about it was the shooting. The mission, graphics, vehicles - just about everything else was inferior to ArmA2 or outright bad.

Yeah the game very flawed, the engine is obviously toned down heavily for the console.

But Arma2 doesn't campaign coop, so I'd rather play this. OpF: DR doesn't have 16million menus so It can be a lot more playable.

Yes it does. You've been able to play the campaign with up to 4 players since its release.
