Please supply graphs on why we should keep this open, or how DHS killed the forum.
I await more dribble from Jifty **** on keeping it alive and well.. like he did for All Maps
HAR HAR HAR
I said it 2 years ago. If you change All maps, you would lose the community which that provided. Everyone laughed and said I was talking bollocks, but lets look at the facts shall we.
+ Teh Rock changes allmaps, player numbers drop to zero.
+ Teh Rock and DHS claim "Oh, it was the IP change in the grassy knoll", they'll all come back.
+ Some weeks later, All maps still zero.
+ Teh Rock reverts all maps, after a wave of negativity about them. But instates No camping (read: Mommy! Someone shot me while I was standing around the uncap like an ass-hat waiting for a plane! Waaahhh!). Numbers don't improve.
+ Some months pass. Those rules are revoked by a real admin.
+ 2 years later, DHS and co. finally come to the realization that the all maps community no longer exists, and as a result, these boards have become a lot less frequented.
+ Oh, and Teh Rock bumps a whole heap of 2 year old threads, no doubt to give the impression that the board he moderates is still active, and a feeling of *very* unwarranted self importance.
Hey Dr Holmes, I believe there are a bunch of unsolved murders, and stolen garden gnomes that need investigating. With sharp wits like yours, no doubt it should be all squared up by the turn of the next century.
Result: Everyone took their bats and **** off home
Even though there was a 3 or 4 year gap between when I started playing, and when everyone buggered off. Clearly you are right with this one.

Teh Rock: game oping BF 1942 Community: Err, what community?
Fixt (as your beloved Chero liked to say).
It will be interesting to see what game you try and get yourself some power in next. If game op where a real career (which I am afraid it isn't), a history like yours would pretty much rule you out of any game op job for years. After all, no one wants to see their server turn to ****, and their entire community cease to exist (except for the rusted on clantards who couldn't give a crap about everyone else, but their own little world).
It's as if you are the Kevin Rudd of Game Ops. You aren't really Kev07 in disguise are you?

lol
Well, let's face it. You will eventually have to leach yourself onto some other game, having power, but no one to use it against here. So, let's see how a hypothetical interview for the position for GameOp for some random game might pan out:
Admin: So, what GameOp'ing experience have you had... errr... Mr Rock?
Teh Rock: I am GameOp for GA Battlefield 1942 for a bit over 2 years and counting.
Admin: Ah, Nice <ticks box>. So what kind of things did you do as GameOp?
Teh Rock: I moderated the message boards, looked after the 3 GA public servers, and the other private one. Looked after clan matches, helped resolve disputes and complaints from the community. I was even a member of one of the Clans that frequented the place. That kind of involvement in the community was originally what got me the role I think, given how GA seldom takes on GameOps or moderators from the public.
Admin: Yeah, we have had a number of GA gameOps and admins here, most of whom had connections with GA before working for them. They obviously saw something in you I suppose <ticks another box>.
Teh Rock: Yeah, no doubt. I think it was that, and the fact that the server was becoming a complete nightmare for the community, as at least with the public servers, they were always full of griefers and hi-pingers.
Admin: Yeah, those can always be a problem, but I think it is an unavoidable part of hosting a public server <ticks a box>. GameArena in particular has a fairly bad name for that sort of thing. So I suppose you had your hands full when you took on the role. What action did you take to help keep the server numbers up, and the community happy?
Teh Rock: Well, when I took the position, I decided to update the rules on the server, since they had been the same virtually since the server was created. I got some input from my fellow clan members, and we decided that the best action was to stop these people in their tracks. We enacted a no camping policy, and put bubbles around uncappable flags to keep them from spawn camping.
Admin: Ah, fair enough. Although I seem to remember GA having a Bubblemap server that was public. Why not just use that?
Teh Rock: ...
Admin: Err... I mean... if that was really a problem, then wouldn't people already play on those servers anyway?
Teh Rock: ... Well, the other-one had FF, where as the server which we modified which got a majority of our traffic did not.
Admin: ... I see... Well, couldn't you just have turned off FF on the other server? And you mentioned that this server had a majority of your traffic. What kind of player numbers are we talking about for each of these servers?
Teh Rock: Well, The Allmaps one (that was the one we modified), had fairly consistently 10-20+ players most times of day, although obviously in off-peak times it was fall of high-pingers from over seas. The Bubblemap server didn't really have any traffic so to speak, We....
Admin: Uhhh... No traffic...?
Teh Rock: Well, yeah. People obviously didn't like playing with FF, that...
Admin: But you just said a minute ago that griefers were a constant problem. I mean, a griefer is going to find some way of killing team mates, FF or not. Obviously they were succeeding if you saw it as such a problem.
Teh Rock: But no one likes FF, the traffic stats showed that clearly?
Admin: Well, how much of the community didn't like FF? I mean, I may be going out on a limb here, but couldn't you just as easily say that people avoided that server because of the bubbles?
Teh Rock: Well, all of it I suppose. The vote we had was a majority in favour of bubbles.
Admin: Hmmm. Well, how big was the majority?
Teh Rock: About 80 people voted. And most of them voted in favour of the bubbles.
Admin: Well, again then. Why didn't you just disable FF on that server, and let people choose. I mean it sounds like you are not only putting all of your eggs in one basket, but also picking a much more complicated fix to the problem, than just toggling a flag.
Teh Rock: Well... because we wanted to really stomp those griefers and campers. We thought that if we kept Allmaps how it was, all of them would just stay there, and everyone else would move over to the bubblemaps one.
Admin: Well, isn't that what you wanted? I mean you have your real players with their own server seperated from the majority of the griefers. And the griefers have their own space to p*ss eachother off in. That seems like a win-win sictuation too me.
Teh Rock: ... well... it was all very complicated, and there is quite a lot more too it than I am saying. But in the end, that was the most appropriate action in my opinion. I mean, the griefing was so rife, that the clans couldn't even play on the public servers because they were such a disaster.
Admin: Well OK, I will have to take your word for that I suppose. How well did these changes fix the problem?
Teh Rock: Well, we got rid of all the griefers pretty quick. I think they all went over to 3FL, or turned into basement emo's, heh.
Admin: So the community was happy with the changes?
Teh Rock: Quite happy. Except for the griefers. They constantly spammed our forums telling us to change it back, and that it was bad for the community, and that the players weren't going to come back, etc. Usual whining from drop-kicks. This one characher, who goes by the name shifty ManJit even continues to whine about it, 2 years on! That guy must have no life.
Admin: He whines about the bubbles?
Teh Rock: Not exactly, we don't have those anymore.
Admin: Wait, I am confused. What do you mean you don't have them anymore?
Teh Rock: Well, we took them off?
Admin: .... why?
Teh Rock: Well, you see, when we changed the server. Someone screwed up the IP address, so the servers were located at a different place for a day or two. I think most people thought the server had shut, so they went to play else where.
Admin: But they came back right? And wouldn't they just update their list of servers. I mean the button is right there on the UI?
Teh Rock: Well.... no. I mean many just went over to 3FL, and I guess they stayed there. We fixed the server right up, but the locals seemed to stay over on 3FL, and god knows where all the overseas players when. They were a bunch of high-pingers anyway, so nothing of value was lost.
Admin: ... That doesn't really answer my question, and infact raises a whole heap of new ones. What about those clan players you mentioned, why didn't they now use the public server, since it sounds like it was well and truely free of griefers?
Teh Rock: Well, they just played on the private server, as they always did.
Admin: ...?
Teh Rock: <shrugs>
Admin: Riiiiiight.
Teh Rock: <starts picking at a black-head>
Admin: ... So, how many players *did* return to the server. And why did you remove the bubbles?
Teh Rock: Well, we had numbers in the low 10's for a while, now all of the public servers are virtually untrafficed. Infact, the bubble and flyboys ones got closed due to lack of activity.
Admin: ...
Teh Rock: <continues picking, or should I say digging>
Admin: So, let me just get my head around this. You wanted to fix problems on a public server, so you asked a bunch of people who never use them (and never seemed to have any intention of using them) what would fix the problems. You then implemented the changes *on your only trafficed server*? This despite the fact you had some other servers apparently sitting idle, and in fact one which was a checkbox short of being what you turned the server into?
Teh Rock: Well, at least we got rid of those griefer knobs. Especially that **** character. I really disliked his smugness.
Admin: Look, I am going to have to be honest with you here. GameOping servers is about keeping the community happy, and kicking. You are listing your grand achievements at GA as being all but eliminating the community? I don't know if you understand this, but game servers are about getting traffic, consistent traffic. Consistent traffic means you have a happy player base who come back again and again. It sounds like that's exactly what GA had, until you put your thumb in the pie.
Teh Rock: ... CYA MATE
Admin: Uhhhh, OK..... Well, I think that concludes this interview. I think I am going to just blurt this out, and say... well... you have no chance of landing this position. I'm sorry, but your 'experience' on GA shows you are just not up to being a gameOp.
Teh Rock: ... Hey, check out this super funny pic I found on 4-chan...
Shifty, does it give your life a sense of purpose to repeatedly post fabricated, delusional dribble on an internet gaming forum, which you admittedly no longer play? and what makes you think anyone is gonna bother reading it..
If it makes you feel any better; Desert Combat Op, COD4 Op, and BC2 Op.. Cheerio...
Mcgit why do you continually respond with ignorant dribble whenever someone confronts you with the truth? Denial much? Thank you for conceding defeat, yet again.

OK then, help make me less ignorant. What benefit is there in reducing our public server traffic to zero players? And why make changes to our only trafficed server when you could have just switched a flag on Bubblemaps?
Although I can't confirm that you are a gameOp on those other games (something I find quite doubtful), I am too lazy to check. If in fact you are, god help their respective communities. I am sure it is only a matter of time before your staggering incompetence causes an exodus of players to other servers, and RL.

There you go again.. if you're expecting a reply, please refer to my previous post. How many more times do you intend on conceding defeat? Cheers.

I read it. And i found it factual and funny. And what is delusional about what he said? Did you change the maps? And if so, did the numbers drop to zero? Are you trying to blame a incorrect ip for the drop to zero? If so. If someone likes a game. They will not give up if a server they regularly use has a bit of trouble for a few days. So you really expect people to accept that excuse for the reason for the zero player count? Especially if that game has a forum, where they can find out what the trouble is? Everyone knows the answers to those questions. And if they would stop being kiss **** fan boys, they would admitt, that the delusional one here is you. Just look at the facts. Before you and your clan took over. The server had good numbers. After you and your clan took over. the server had zero. That's very damming evidence.

This has all been pointed out countless times before by myself (and the few others who could see past the aura apparently shining out of Cherocha, and Teh Rock's colon). You apparently can't use logic to reason with these people. Maybe if you dig around for something on 4chan which explains your point, it might get through, but I wouldn't count on it.
Besides, what difference does it make now anyway. The public servers are devoid of players, and that is never going to change. I will continue to drop by the forums from time to time to make the obligatory barbed comment, or point out how the servers got screwed over, but I have long since lost hope of the good times in GameArena all-maps ever returning.
In reality though, even if GameArena returned to its unruined state tomorrow, I wouldn't have any time to play it (although I would probably end up making time, like I did back in my student days).
Rest in peace Allmaps. You lived a bright and full existance, which was cut short by grand levels of stupidity who's only possible source could be the dry end of the gene-pool.
So much time it must take though. That mock interview alone must've taken the better part of an hour to contrive. I mean, **** man, learn another language; study some world culture; take up a hobby. Do something constructive, I feel bad seeing somebody whittle away hours on internet forum smacktalk. Unless of course you really enjoy it, I guess you have to do whatever makes you happy.

Yeah, you're right. I guess I am not doing anything constructive. See you around people, I am off to get totally wasted on alcohol, and then fall of a high place, and give myself a life long disability/injury. That will show everyone how constructive I am being. </sarcasm>

Sorry to dissapoint, but i'm expected to make a full recovery.
I also had not had a single drink, and the fall was due to the railing on our balcony being held in solely by the plaster finish... and maybe a gram of coke... maybe a few...
Either way, falling off a balcony in a hostel on the coast of Columbia in between doing scuba dive tickets swimming in pristine reefs, is pretty much the coolest **** you could every hope to do Shifty. I suggest you start saving, get the **** over there and get to hoppin' on those balconies son!

Really, I didn't know they could regrow limbs now, you will have to point out an article or three for me to gander at (as I must be behind the times with technology). As for no alcohol contributing to your little incident, I find that claim laughable. Especially considering you have frequently posted about how much drugs/alcohol you have consumed on your trip (and in life in general prior). That kind of recounting may get you respect point with all your DHS lapdogs and hangers-on, but in the real world it is just called being a f*cking retard.
But what it comes down to is this. You **** up, big time, and the after-effects are going to stay with you forever. They may bandy about terms like 'full-recovery', but that is just to make you feel better. You are permenantly crippled, and have significantly reduced the amount of things you will be able to enjoy in life, which most others take for granted. But unlike our war-heroes, or good samaritans who lose limbs and suffer horendous injuries for nobel causes (and deserve much respect and admiration), you have lost your limb being a tool, as per your character. Congratulations.

Due to shoddy workmanship by Columbian labourers, i've already had to have one leg amputated, and due to spreading infection, chances are I may have to have the other taken off too, and you still make fun of me? My god you're a terrible human being.
