Somewhere central for people to come at this point.

Plan is to have a red v blue FH style of comp....a series of maps making up some sort of campaign (eg Normandy), a running tally of points kept throughout. We will shoot for as many numbers as possible as the server we will play on can handle > 32 slots.

At this point the 2 mega teams will be:

joint inûb-DOW operation vs
everybody else (clanners, non clanners)

We figured this is the best way as nubs and dow get a large turnout on a regular basis and can match a combined rest of the world type team.

Will try and set up a central forum on inûb forums soon, with a pub section as well as 2 priv sections for each team...stay tuned.

Things yet to be decided:

Who takes red, who takes blue (teams will stick to this side for entire series)
What maps (will be a mix of nilla, pro and MAPPACK - sticking to a theatre 'theme').
When games are played (well most likely sunday night, 8pm)
How many rounds (Maybe do like FHT and go for 2 hours no matter how many rounds)
Does Gruff suck? (Yes)
WHat TS, vent? (Each side will need to decide - can set up passworded rooms for each side on 3fl TS ideally).

So go ahead and throw in input...comp proper wont start for a couple of weeks, will have these trial games in the meantime!

Yea was definitely good fun last night, and gives us an idea of which way to head with the comp proper.

Am I right in thinking sticking to one side only is not the go? Everyone seemed pretty keen to swap to the other side after round was over.

Numbers were surprisingly spot on for balance! Was only ever 1-2 at most in one sides favour...and thats with plenty of nûbs awol still nursing a hangover from the final last week lol

Having everyone at the one ts location also seemed to work well.

What did everyone else make of it?

Yeah it was pretty good even though we were gayed.Jay was unreal in the heavy +1 he is banned from all servers henceforth.
Our team needs to nominate a captain to call the **** and assign roles.
Need to swap at the end of the round playing as axis will suck for a campaign.

Pro maps for next sunday!

2 rounds per map and 2 maps with each team having a go at axis and allies is definatley the way to go.

Should the maps for the comp come down to a vote so that everyone has a say or will a campaign just be thown up.

I like the idea of 3 or 4 smaller campaigns.

IE
2 weeks of pacific based maps.
2 weeks in the desert
2 weeks of western front
2 weeks on the russian front.

Ends up being 4 maps from each Theatre and with pro maps thrown in theres plenty to choose from.

Numbers were good for both sides too adze, you fellas were missing a few, we were down a couple and there were heaps of names missing from "the rest" so can only get better.

All being in the same TS channel worked well, the nubs were all friendly enough. If the numbers get too high though you may run into issues but we'll deal with that as it comes up i spose.

Yea I like the sound of switching theatre every 2 weeks...dont forget we have MAPPACK and PRO maps to choose from as well

Need to make up a team list, cause last night was a bit like a pub game on the random team, just the BA boys and a few iC2 guys were trying to play as a team. Need captains and that.

We should try those massive 64 player maps like battle for rome.

Possible, yet unlikely.

Really when you look at it, the 2 teams facing off in the last final are on opposing sides...plus iC2 get the best of the rest (ATA, FTA, TOG, BOUNTYLOL etc), and skillwise that should match up.

Besides, that game on Sunday night was tight as, and with another trial game this week we will get a very good idea.

Alright, after chatting to people on xfire, it seems most think the teams are pretty good in the way of balance, especially if we can get the Barbars in the same TS.

How about another test match this Sunday, same teams and hopefully with more regs.

3FL was a joke at that time frame for the mega comp. During the day i get 200 fps, at the time of megaJOKE i was getting 50-60fps... Total dog crap, and 3FL should be ashamed of there weak, over subscribed server.
Maybe we play on =DOW= server this weekend? Dont tell me =DOW= is co-lo at 3FL. the dodger,,, i agree, best going...

Our servers only a 24 slot server heavy
