Lol there will even be steam achievements - I wonder if there is one for such things like:

Yeah i mean GA steam server.

Its only on one of the GA steam servers atm, that is ga17. The other one doesnt have it. After a while of closing connections from the other steam servers it finally just let me get it from one server, ga17.

Just checked my usage. I see 4.1gb of unmetered usage =D.

For those worried about about being capped, steamwatch is your friend...

Isn't the internode bit a tad redundant now? I thought they made all steam servers unmetered if they were your ISP. So why would you want to use only node's?

True, internode (currently) has both GA and node steam servers unmetered, but I don't know if GA has node steam servers unmetered.

But the primary purpose it to stop it coming from overseas, at which point it becomes metered traffic.

If you are on node (like me) the node servers will be (slightly) faster for you anyway...

Only gamearena is unmetered for bigpond customers.

Use steam watch and make it clock out everything but gamearena.

Internode etc are metered so avoid them at all costs.

I only got a 25gig limit and it goes fast.

As for 25GB - luxury! I'm slum it on 10GB metered downloads but also manage to rack up 20-30GB unmetered per month

You can preload it with steam and use the Steamwatch program that galah mentioned above and it should download only from gamearena mirrors unmetered.

I go to play this half an hour before work, and it spends that entire half and hour decrypting itself, dammit.

Now it's downloading another 48% of the game! Damn this world!

Apparently theres a 1.4 gig patch to play the game.

Atleast yours is decrypting, mine keeps saying the steam servers are too busy. Just wanna start it so I can **** off back to bed lol

oh thats right valve refuse to give us that little detail. And theres always the chance steam is trying to go to every other server under the sun first :/

The files decrypted in like 5 minutes. Now im trying to get the ga server to get the last 48% from. Seen everything except ga server grr.

AA3 download and training seems to be working intermittently at the moment due to overloading, so hopefully things settle down over the next few hours / days.

what do you mean training working intermittently. I cant even unlock the dam game in steam. blew my donload limit now it wont work. Like I said put it in disc I say!!!

Yeah i keep getting internode to show up, but i set my steamwatch to get rid of it because its metered.

I was asking if anyone else CAN'T unlock there steam download as ive been trying for 6 hrs now.

up untill 12 i was getting maybe 4 kbps on teh patch now its after 12 and its gone right back up to preload speed. Damn this waiting sucks, but i got nothing better to do

Yes much appreciated Galah, bit annoying that GA servers hosted the preload but now they suddenly dont hold AA3. Only got 5gb of my usage left for month =(.

If it is any consolation a number of my clan mates who have already d/l the game can't complete training at the moment due to auth issues...

Its the servers its there getting smashed so i keep changing the steam server in settings download and occasionly i get one with a little speed for a bit

Is there anyone else that is still unable to unlock AA3 and how long have they been trying. The replys that say they have unlocked AA3 are not helping unless theve had the same problem. You all seem to have had no trouble unlocking just problems with downloading 1.4G patch.

Yeah some of my clan mates are doing the training now using their linked accounts, but they have been having inconsistent auth / login / training record update issues

Maybe we should wait until the US goes to sleep, and before the euros wake up... lol

Just have to wait i guess, i managed to register a new account but now keep getting the blue screen of death. But i guess it wouldnt be AA without the frustrations and headaches, ahh the memories.

Yeah monkey mentioned a few hang / bsod issues were kicking around the aa forums.

And so the love / hate relationship with AA continues!

Yay got it working. I think the latest nvidia drivers will cause the game to crash if you have it set to a high resolution. Just need to wait for the training to actually save and some au servers and bring on the gaming.

This better all be fixed by the time I get home from work.

hmm seems the content on the GA steam server is set by steam, not GA, so get spamming in the steam forums (start here perhaps http://forums.steampowered.com/forums/Americas-Army/f ... .php?) to try to get the steam guys to push AA3 down on to the GA servers
