Navy SEALs: Covert Operations Beta 1.93 update
Navy SEAL/s: Covert Operations is a scale realism total conversion for id
Software's Q3/TA engine. NS:CO pits players in realistic SEAL and Tango
land covert operations in realistic settings with scale weapons,
munitions, and equipment.
NS:CO is a tactically sophisticated feature rich multi-player game that
emphasized teamwork and realistic SEAL SPECWAR missions and tactics.
NS:CO is a total conversion featuring original game-design, technology,
all original code, stunning art, level design, modeling and animation;
wrapped in a rich game interface that gives players new exciting control
over game-play that is unique, realistic and enormous fun.
Team Mirage along with the help of the NS:CO Betatesting Team has worked
hard to bring you this new release of seals. The release consists of:
Four new maps:
* ns_castle (formerly known to the public as ns_mansion) by mIc, models by
TriDane and VorpalDoom. Textures by mIc, Democritus and Vorpaldoom.
* ns_elmstreet by mIc
* ns_manor by Ogun
* ns_ware by Schakal and Krono
Previously not distributed as official maps:
* ns_skyscraperB by mIc
* ns_substation by Schakal
New features:
* New elevator and alarm entity for mappers.
* Many fixes to the menu system
* The addition of regular smoke grenades
* Regular Grenade Launcher is back with a minimum travel distance
* Armed grenades on the ground are triggered when another nade close to it
explode
* The unlagged code can be disabled with a new serverside cvar: "g_antilag"
* More nasty buffer overflows which caused random server events were
assassinated by [mIc]
* Improved nscoserver.sh script replaces startserver.sh and
restartserver.sh for *NIX server admins.
* com_maxfps is locked between 40-160 to combat an exploit a q3 engine/nsco.
* New hit system which inflicts both stamina and physical damage
INSTALL INSTRUCTIONS:
A 1.93 Full release as well as an .exe installer of this version will come
later. For now the easiest way to upgrade is to copy the seals directory
from the zipfile to your old full 1.91a (~300mb ) full install (zip or
exe) and choose yes to overwrite some of the files. Its also possibly with
a fresh install to go from 1.9 to 1.91 to 1.91a to 1.93 in that order but
far less convenient. For newcomers to NS:CO remember you need to install
the Quake III Arena 1.32 Point Release first and remember to check install
punkbuster. You will also need a Quake III Arena full install. If you have
any problems try the friendly community in #ns:co on Quakenet. Remember to

problems first!
