What is E3 and what to expect from E3 2008?

E3
E3 stands for Electronics Entertainment Expo, and it is an annual trade show run by the Entertainment Software Association. It is traditionally used by video games developers to show and launch their upcoming games and related hardware.

Since the year 2007 it has been an invitation only event typically accessible to members of the video games industry and press to clearly represent the upcoming features from the developers attending the show.

GameArena is representing at E3 this year which means you can expect extensive text and video coverage on all the hottest games coming out this year and next.

Some - but not all - of the games which may be featuring are Halo Wars, Killzone 2, Resident Evil 5, Gears of War 2, Lego Batman, Fable 2, L.A. Noire and Rock Band 2. And that's just a list of games which have been announced already - developers and publishers have more games up their sleeves, and you can find out the news on them and more at GameArena first!

22 Jul "E308 Wrap-Up - your one stop shop" E308 is finished for another year, and the GameArena crew overseas is slowly making its way back into the country. Kreese and Andy Wells have been unbelievably busy all week - if you haven't been able to keep up with all the news coming out of E308 you can find all of Andy Wells' videos and Kreese's on scene reports below.
21 Jul "E308 - Thursday Feature" Andy Wells is back in front of the camera. In his Thursday Feature we get more details on Spore and Mirror's Edge from EA, some information on Resistance 2 from Insomniac Games and the PlayStation 3 news out of Sony Computer Entertainment.
18 Jul "Left 4 Dead - Bringing people together with zombies" He must be the busiest man in video - if it was worth seeing at E3 Andy was on it, delivering us videos all over the place. This time he's got us an interview with Mike Booth from Valve, who dwarfs our man with the mic.
18 Jul "Afro Samurai - swearing its way on to PS3, 360" Samuel L Jackson is a man who knows what he likes. He likes swearing - a lot. He also liked Star Wars enough to apparently take the role of Mace Windu without knowing anything about him. He likes comic books enough that he's let Marvel use his likeness for the Ultimate universe version of Nick Fury - after the credits in the Iron Man movie you get a glimpse of his character in action. And he likes anime - japanese cartoons.
18 Jul "Resistance is mobile - Resistance Retribution interview" Andy Wells - the world's busiest reporter - is back on the case again. This time he's got Sam Thompson and Caley Roberts from Sony Computer Entertainment with him to talk about Resistance: Retribution for the Sony PSP.
18 Jul "Andy's E3 Wednesday feature!" Andy's Wednesday wrap-up features Travis Barker - ex Blink 182 drummer - talking about Guitar Hero World Tour, the news that Daniel Craig is a gamer (we always knew there was something good about him) and Andy getting sassed by the Skate It guy for his mad skills.
